Molly Mims Fant

Mrs. Molly Mims Fant passed away Friday, March 19 at the home of her daughter, Mrs. B A Hill, in Sparta, after a lingering illness of several months.

She was 87 years old on March 6th, living only a short time past her birthday. She was married to Dr. Q D Fant in 1874, and he preceded her in death 55 years ago. She worked by the sick bed alongside her husband and continued to do so after his death, being a patient, loving and efficient nurse.

She was the mother of seven children, three boys and four girls, four of whom survive: Weston Fant, of Woodland, Mrs. Mae Davis, of Pascagoula, Mrs. Kate Kynard, of Duck Hill, and Mrs. B A Hill, with whom she lived. She is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren.

She joined the Methodist church at an early age and was a consistent member. Funeral services were held at the home with her parents, Rev. Mayo officiating. Interment was made in Amity cemetery.

The pall bearers included four of her grandsons: Weston Fant, of Memphis, Elkin Fant, of Woodland; Quitman Fant, of Houston and Bold Kynard, of Duck Hill. Also Charles Holloman, of Houston, and R L Kilgore, of Sparta.
