Joseph Jennings, 60, died Sunday, December 30, 2012, at the North MS Medical Center in Tupelo. He was born January 7, 1952 to Vernon and Eva Lamb Jennings in Sparta. He was a member of Amity Baptist Church where he sang in the choir and was a member of The Brotherhood. He worked over 30 years at Franklin Corporation.
Services will be Monday, December 31, at Amity Baptist Church at 2 pm. with Brother Scott Griffin Officiating. Burial will follow in Amity Cemetery. The body will lie in state at the church from 12 noon until service time.
He is survived by his wife, Shirley Porter Jennings of Houston; one son David Joseph Jennings of Houston, four sisters: Mary Alice Lancaster & Jimmy of VanVleet, Geraldine Griffin & Gerald of Houston, Erin Porter & Charlie of Houston, and Brenda Jenkins & Larry of Pontocola; many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Vernon & Eva Jennings, a brother Tommy Jennings, Sr., and two sisters: Betty Jo Nabors and Melba Reed.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tommy Kilgore, Jimmy Brand, Linn Hughes, Steven Porter, Wesley Bass, Mike Bennett and John Lancaster.
